I was going to try and paint Hugh and I thought I had better try and sketch him first. Well I used canvas printed paper - why, I still dont know a brain malfunction on my behalf. The picture is very grainy due to his hiccup, but all a learning curve I guess!

"Dr. House" is "a little grainy" himself so it's probably very appropriate. Anyway, great likeness!Gaye lee 08 Jan 2011

Thank you for the comments on my work! Actually, yes you are right not the best to work on in pencil. But it is interesting how the texture gives a great effect on the fabric of his suit! This is a great sketch and you definitely have a likeness there. If you bought his cheek in a little just above his hand it would show off the cheekbone more and his slender face? He looks just a little too plump at the mo in that spot. The other cheek is more gaunt and just right! Now ..go on have a go at painting him! :)Herb Roe 30 Mar 2008
