Every Tree Tells a Story

I have taken a new series of illustrations that lie underneath the bark of trees. I decided to create a new category since it is interesting to know what you see in the images I have uncovered and the stories that the imagery elicits. I always enjoy your projections on my series of bark art. There are several more to follow.

at first I thought the stripes were wounds...but at Joanne's suggestion of a boat, I saw two lovers getting ready to kiss...well maybe a gorilla and a spaniel head getting ready to kiss..? :|

Oh...It's the little girl in the ruby red boat! Her back is to you...and she has on her favorite dress that turns from red to orange then to yellow! See? it's changing now!She has brown hair and likes to wear it in two pony tails coming out each side. She is on A quest....In her left hand she has A glove of dark brown fur..holding A fat baby bird with A tiny head and beak. To the right of the boat..is A candle stick that when she lights it...marvelous odors come out of it that draws hundreds of butterflies. The flapping of their wings takes the boat wherever she wants it to go. to lower right..are white whispering spirits of the water. They know Her quest is important. At the left of the boat is an adult bird on her nest..telling the girl what the baby is saying. The quest goes on.......Homeward bound...for the special little baby!

Well, I see a chubby gal in beautiful print dress of gorgeous colors and a garish double belt .. I'd use a deep Olive green belt if that was MY dress!! :) LouAnnK

Artist Reply: I agree. You always have a wonderful fashion sense. I probably have another tree abstract with a more appropriate double belt.

Very eye catching Julie! I see all types of people merging as one...like a puzzle. I feel the red could reflect the many struggles that lay ahead. Great work!

Artist Reply: I always appreciate your creative projections and symbolic interpretations of my bark abstracts. There will be many more "tree stories" to respond to. It is a great exercise for the imagination!!
