The train we rode to Amsterdam is one of the fastest in the world, with a maximum speed of 320 kilometers per hour. Even though we were traveling at a high rate of speed, we were still able to enjoy the view of the countryside and towns from our window. We were served a delicious meal by the steward. There was cold chicken stuffed with spinach in a savory gravy, gnocchi with rasins, fresh baby carrots and biscotti soaked in sweet white wine. This was accompanied by a refreshing bottle of Chiraz and a crusty baguette wth goat cheese. For dessert, we enjoyed a lemon tart with a steaming cup of rich coffee. We were not able to capture many clear images from the window, but this one turned out exceptionally well considering the speed we were travelling. This is Antwerp, which is located about three hours North of Paris. It is in the country of Belgium, and the capital of Antwerp province, in Flanders, one of Belgium's three regions. It was not long after this that we arrived at our final destination, Amsterdam. Image captured 09/25/2007.
