Neon City

Greetings Ladies & Gentlemen, This is Jerry Stith the founder of an American folk art program called BallPoint Pen Art. That program was designed to present what a ballpoint pen can do as an art medium. Needless to say, ballpoint pens are part of the PEN & INK Art movement which has been around for the past four thousand years. Pen and Inks have elevated the human race via writings or picture making throughout mankinds history.***** Today the ballpoint pen has out sold all other pens or art instruments in history. The Bic Pen Company published two years ago that they alone sold ONE HUNDRED BILLION PENS of their own! Ballpoint pens today are one the greatest sold items Internationally. BallPoint Pen Art is therefore the greatest undeveloped art movement in history!***** I've been publishing what a ballpoint pen can do as an art medium on the WWW for the past seven years. My Ball Point Pen Art network or forum has more drawings, style, artists, information, stats, colors, tip sizes and or facts related to a ballpoint than any other place in history.***** One thing I am introducing is an oil-based colored ballpoint pen ink. Most of the different colors seen in my draws are from the LINDY PEN Company. They were the first to produce 12 different colors and gold plus brown were part of that count. The ballpoint pen is the only oil-based ink system in history. The oil within those inks produce the brightest, richest or prettiest colored inks in history! What a spectacular up-grade that was for an artist like I, that was or became!***** Today, the Fisher Space Pen company markets 10 colors and SILVER plus GOLD are part of that production. Remember, most people in the world think pen and ink art is among the hardest or most difficult of all art mediums to work with! Society might not pay accordingly yet that certainly doesn't take away our abilities or skills in order to complete such art works.***** I thank ArtWanted for letting me present what my art medium can do as an art medium. I have different colors, tip sizes, frames, digital, animation and commercial styles or formats posted at this art forum for your enjoyment! How many different art styles, variations or ways can I present a ballpoint pen drawing is the question? Cheers from your friend, Jerry Stith

Talk about wonderful light. You use the illuminated outline, much as a neon artist uses that medium. It creates a special, electric feel to the subject, a little spooky, but appealing.

I was unaware there was a neon city anywhere! I did know that Paris, France is considered the City of Light and Las Vegas, Nevada was the City of Lights. Paris get its title from the renissance when it became the major repository of knowledge or the City of Enlightenment which later became the City of Light. Vegas was the City of Lights from the lights never being shut off. New York is the City that Never Sleeps not as blindingly or continuously lit as Vegas. Berlin I know nothing about! So enlighten me, please? I like the picture by the way!
