The Monastery at Osgroth, Montenegro (2007)

St. Basil (Vasilli) built this monastery in the hill to escape the Turks, who had invaded and occupied Montenegro (Crna Gora). He was know as Basil, the Healer, and his cell became an important site of pilgrimage, which it remains today. His uncorrupted body lies in state in the monastery. My wife brought a give of pysanki to the monks, who returned the kindness by inviting us to a lunch of home-grown, home-made items. A real treat.
