I recently visited Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity organisation in Kolkata. This remarkable woman dedicated over 50 years to helping the poor sick and homeless people there. She fought for the dignity of the destitute in a land foreign to her, giving the world a moral example that bridged divides of culture, class and religion. I wanted to paint her as she would have looked during her fianl years. I created the collage support of old stained cloth to be symbollic of poverty and squalor.... conditions she encountered every day.

What a beautiful tribute...and reminder that LOVE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

Artist Reply: Thanks Tina and Olga...... yes, love can change the world.... and there should be more of it...... Mother Theresa was a great example. While I was there I was given a flower off her tomb..... so I now have a precious relic....I will treasure it. Pauline

Wow - Pauline - is this your new style ?

Artist Reply: Hi Egon..... no, not a new style..... just got inspired to do this when I was in India. I sold this one and two more people asked me to do them one...... but I'm afraid it's a one-off. Glad you like it...:)
