The Universe

About the painting:  The piece was inspired by my desire to grasp the secrets of the Universe, hence the name of the piece.  I find all different sections of sci-fi fascinating and intriguing.  The Universe was painted as a gift back for all the kindness it has provided me and my contentment and daily thriving I get from it.  A vision manifested by pure thoughts of the vast energy space with its quirkiness and playfulness that I so adore!  Remarkable!!

Specifications:  The painting doesn't need a frame.  It was painted in 2002 on staple free sides, which are also painted.  It is stretched on a custom wood framing thicker then most common stretchers.  It can be sold as is or removed from the stretcher for shipping and handling.

Dimension: 28" x 59" (71 x 150 cm) on a Studio stretched canvas.

Choice of my colour palette: I used the colours, which resonated with my energy levels at the time.  Each section has it's own uniqueness and texture and also a deep and significant meaning.   The centre of the universe has a nucleus, which is a source or power for providing and generating life in different galaxies.  In our case the SUN or Helios, which stands for SUN GOD in Greek.

The blues throughout the piece are a reference to H2O, again in our case water, which is another source for life on Earth.  The reds were added as a variety of gasses and flaming stars and planets with births and rebirths, such as NOVAS and SUPERNOVAS.  They were equally important to be present for life on other planets and in other galaxies, since the source to sustain life there is unknown.

I also used a lot of white, which leads to continuous growth and development in the vast space and the use of black was for the mysterious, unknown and yet undescovered.  The yellows were symbolic for LIFE in general and the only reason I used that colour is because it resonated with me better then green.  I find the colour happy and joyous, just as life is meant to be.  FUN, fun, fun!

I enjoyed creating the swirls and turns and even that was a reference to worm holes and ports within dimensions and the time space continuum itself.

Result: MY UNIVERSE!  Whereever it hangs and who ever will have the privilege to own it, it will always be mine at heart.   It's an unbreakable and a remarkable connection and the piece is very special to me.

Awesome abstract. I feel the dimensions pulling me into an area unknown yet somehow familiar coexisting along side of us in the universe. Great piece!!!!!!

The color, texture, form, movement, and layout are top notch. All it needs is a thick black frame to highlight the energy of the white area, and to be hung on my wall of coarse (wink, wink, :) )
