Hopi Mother and Child

I found this while rooting around in old photos. One of the few earliest paintings I did when I was just learning to use oils. I was fascinated with Mexican and Native American folk art and tried my hand at it. I was 14 at the time. It was done by a cheap set of beginner oils on canvas board.

Love her throat and jawline. And this is impressive for a first use of oils.

That's really very talented art for that age, Kristof! Wonderful colours and faces.

Artist Reply: Thank you! I used to think up until only ten years ago or so it sucked!..lol..but then I have studied folk art and gave in and liked it hehe

a very wonderful painting, nice to see the face of the child so close! Perfect art Kristof!

Artist Reply: thank you..too bad it wasn't a better photo but then again I really didn't know what I was doing and it wasn't a pricey camera!..I was surprised how well it did turn out.
