Quick, fun drawing which started off as a study of the play of color on the feather. Hope you like it! *Noticed the colors weren't as bright online as the original...sorry! Original: 11"x14"

Whoa, if this is quick and fun, I can't wait to see slow and serious--wonderful palette of complementary colors. Amy your detail on the edges of the feathers is right on. Those eyes, what fabulous form. The best of both realism and fantasy. Very creative. What was going through your head when you conjured this up? I hope you can tell how impressed I am.

Artist Reply: Hey...thanks Jeanie! I really appreciate your kind words and that you like this one! I guess the "quick" part is all relative as I usually only get small blocks of time per day/week to do my artwork. But I've always loved the color change effects of feathers, shells, etc. and I have a peacock feather resting on my computer monitor, so that's the bland explaination for the feather. LOL As for the catlike eyes...well, they were inspired from my wide-eyed, little girl cat. These are probably not the exciting, weighty answers you were wanting but that's really all that went into it. The actual idea for the overall design just came, like they usually do, out of the blue. I see it in my head, think "hey, that might be neat," do a quick, little sketch and put that in my pile of future ideas. Problem is, the pile is huge and I never seem to have enough time! LOL Thanks again for taking the time to look and give me a "hey you!" :)
