Poppies and an Olive Tree

I'm persevering with the minimum blending technique, I'm trying to let the colour tell the story. Unfortunately, no matter what light I try to photograph it in, the red seems to glare much more than it dose in the painting. I have tried to keep this loose and painterly and a little abstract. I know what I am trying to achieve but I'm not quite there yet. I think I need to be looser still. 18*x14", Sennelier and Schmincke soft Pastels on Fabriano Tiziano Paper.

What beautiful & vivid colors! The longer I looked at it the more I saw & I foumd myself trying to see deeper into the woods behind the trees.
