I agree with your mom. Very somber, understated but not overwhelmingly bleak. A smile and a cry all in one. The only critical thing I would offer is that the picture is slightly out of focus. I've seen this on a few of your othet works and it's a shame. Stuff like yours is too good to be fuzzy. Bears are fuzzy; your work is sharp!

Artist Reply: Thank you Gerald. I love your articulate comments. I can't photograph the ones that are poorly done now as they are hundreds of miles away. It's great that you caught that it was somber, as I was in a period that was somber too.
