Now and Then/Better or Not

When I first opened an account at AW, I asked that more experienced artists let me know when they had time, to tell me if I was getting better. Many of you have, and I appreciate that. Here is a now and then pic,but I do not know who the photographer is. It was probably taken in 2004.

Oh Cezanne....I love the new, improved version! And you know this has always been one of my favorites. I love the depth that is there now. That is some great shading. I am so impressed.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Rhody! I guess I'm going to have to step it up a bit! You can see the improvement, but I'm not sure about others. I guess I'm just going to have to show them the light! Look for the next new and improved.

I think they are both great. However if I had to chose, I love the darkness to the top. It gives him a mysterious look.

Artist Reply: Thank you, Penny! I found the old picture of this, and decided that although it might have been a fairly nice drawing in 2005, when I began to draw again, there were lots of things I had to try and straighten out.

Artist Reply: Jamie, I thank you! Just wanted to find out different ones' opinion. To some no improvement, and others, about the same but different. Makes me want to try harder, is all.

I do have to say I like the second best, it just appears to me a git more refined, but on the whole both are excellent, confused or what!!

Artist Reply: That's fine Cathy, your explanation, and comment are appreciated!!

I like both the then and now. The first has a deeper shade which I like and you're great at getting his features and all his many different expressions. That is one thing I like the best in your work. Jackie

Artist Reply: Hey, Hi Jackie!! Let me know what you think of the newer one that's up! Thanks!!!
