Celtic Silver Darlings

So called `Silver Darlings' because of the North East of Scotland`Fisher Folk' named the Herring, this design was originally drawn for an Exhibition in Morayshire, Scotland in a museum dedicated to the fihing of this area. Has raised fired enamel lines in gold and silver, then painted in cold enamels.

Amazing! I love this Celtic stuff Cathy, I wish I had a book on celtic forms so I could study it and eventually incorporate it. Or, besides yours, do you know of any sites on which I could see more? Really beautiful work you've done here Cathy. Hey, I just got an idea, Wanna trade a piece of art for a piece of art? Lemme know, okay!

Artist Reply: Hello there R.R., Thank you so much for your comments. I have now been studying the Celtic form of art since 1992, the inspiration originally came from the Celtic & Pictish, standing stones, cross slabs, crosses etc, particular to the East of Scotland, then came accross the `Book of Kells' my main source of inspiration, it is actually a very small book and ancient holy manuscript, extreemly beautiful. I have never looked at the net for a source, mainly because I don't need to, it is all around me!

YOW!This is SO amazing to me, Cathy. I recently removed a page of celtic designs from my henna book (the one people choose their designs from) because I have to take SO long to figure these intricate weaving patterns out, it's PAINFUL to me. I SOOOOO appreciate your abiltiy. This is phenominal!

Artist Reply: Janet, Thank you so very much, can be a bit of a headache working them out to come right, but some how you just develope into them, if you want any designs for henna work, would gladly send you some!
