A Moment-self portrait

Midnight Dreamer Studio In a moment when the weight of the world is just too much I found humor in the ridiculousness of it ALL...this is hell and we are living in it...how much longer will this continue? I already do not like where it is going...people dont care about anything but themselves, their cars, their houses, their fake breasts...it was never supposed to be like this...the world was supposed to be ruled by love not greed....and people laugh at the idea of New World Order....the future is scary my friends...more need to wake up before its too late...if I could ask you to do one thing and one thing only it would be to LOVE....and not just yourself, your family and friends...but LOVE all life and the very earth that gives it to us so freely....The Kingdom of Heaven Lies Within You.... A little more about me, here is one of my all time favorite songs~

To truly love one must learn humility and inner peace. This is a deep subject. One that I enjoy pondering quite often. Love the picture. It says so much. Creepy but cool at the same time, but if one really "sees" they know there is a deeper meaning.

Great photo - and text -Great statements

Leah, sensitive perceptive people 'see' things others can't. I know this for a fact. Artists and poets have the gift because they are marginal; they stand outside looking in. But we can't let THEIR darkness put out OUR light. Our purpose is to shine that light for all to see the difference between what is worthwhile and what is worthless. I love your sensitivity, Leah; your work truly speaks from the heart.

Tom Sierak 02 May 2007

You are so right in what you say in this post Leah. Unfortunately, there do exist radical, maniacal elements on this earth who do not live, think, or function with any semblance of reality. They don't care about the enviornment, women's rights, animal rights, religious freedom, or any other of the wonderful ingredients that we as Americans enjoy. Given the chance they will create a true hell on earth and if that happens, we will all literally beg for so much of what we percieve as the evils of our society. After all, everything is relative, isn't it?

The Iris of the camera captures a unique moment in time in the same way the blink of an eyelid misses a unique moment in time. Your unique snap of time reminds me of the song 'Stay' by Shakespears Sister.

Jeanne Santiago 27 Apr 2007

You don't have to carry the world Leah. Your eyes are towards the light eventhough you are not afraid of the dark. Your portrait is amazingly beautiful, just as you. Black sorrow, love condenced in light.

John Readmond 27 Apr 2007

I really like this. Great image Leah.

Tahnja Wolter 26 Apr 2007

I leave you with this commandment, love one another as I have loved you. Our beautiful Lord gave His life willingly and unselfishly that we might follow His example and treat others with the same love that He showed us.....but it just doesn't happen enough does it my darling friend? My beautiful friend, when you stop in the garden to admire the flowers, God smiles back at you for appreciating His creation. You love and have loved your animals with all your heart, God loves you all the more in return for stopping to love His creations. When you embrace your children and your husband, God embraces you back for appreciating what He has given you. There is indeed love and beauty in the world, the problem is that everbodies is in too much of a hurry and are too self-centred to stop and take notice! I agree with you one hundred percent and I love and uphold you as my dear friend who has seen and felt such pain and darkness like myself. You are a wonderful friend, a beautiful person and your soul is full of love. Hold onto that love my friend, it is what really matters! HUGS!

Alberto D'Assumpcao 26 Apr 2007

Beautiful, Leah!!! Splendid portrait! Love the expression and clearness in your eyes!

M. Usman Ul Haq 26 Apr 2007

Wonderful Work, Leah! and a wonderful message. Yes, we all have to play our part to spread the word of love and peace to make even this world heaven for every body of us (humans) and eliminate hate among us. At least we (artists at AW) all together can do it starting it from our community and spread it to whole world. When we all together will start spreading the word of love and peace it will automatically stop those who dont want us to live in peace and trying their level best to make this place a hell for us. May God Bless and Help us to spread the Word of Love and Peace to find the Kingdom of Heaven that lies within us!

Dear Leah...i so much agree with your words...and those words are coming with your beautiful self portrait.People are different...think or feel differently...i wish more Will think your way,the world will look different place then it is .

Laurie Rawdon 25 Apr 2007

Your eyes go right to your soul and your heart...so very beautiful. Your feelings on this echo mine completely...we my look differently but it seems we may have twin souls The selfishness in the world continues to astound and make me so very sad. I'm reminded of it most when I do something kind for a stranger and what I get in return is a look of astonishment when it should be nothing out of the ordinary. People can just start small...just smile at someone and see what happens...even that tiny gesture of kindness can mean the world to someone. Thank you again Leah you always make me think and feel so much by your art.
