This form of a `Tree of Life' suggests because of the vegetation, Pictish influences,also previously would have been found sprouting from a pot, also carries the traditional beleif in the comlexity and length of interweaving lines to that of longevity`Eternal Life'. This Ink and Brush work is my adaptation from the `Kells Manuscript(plate XIV) originally less than 2 inches in diameter, it contains on close inspection, 4 plants bearing fruit and foliage, 8 birds, 4 reptiles, 4 beasts, Hope you enjoy finding them! 12 x 12 inches.

I love this, I used to paint and draw celtic art a lot. I love the fact that each piece has a particular meaning. I think the construction can be quite mathematical as well, and being a naturally mathematical person, I enjoyed that. Do you illuminate text at all? Thanks for your kind comments.
