DENTAL WORK

Our Dallas is having some dental work done today and I took some photos of his upsetting day. He had some teeth filed and cleaned. A shot was given to keep him comfortable and he spent the rest of day sleeping. He did great and will not have this done again until next year. Dallas is 18 years young and is always a great patient. The vets are from Davis Unversity and come to out ranch to do the work. He had his West Nile vaccine shot given also.

What a beauty looks good for his age I hope he does ok and soon won't have to worry about getting the teeth filled so sorry to hear about his teeth problems but at least he is loved enough to have them taken care of. Good luck to Mr Dallas. such a grand picture of him

Artist Reply: Hi Gerry, I so appreciate the kind words on Dallas, he was a great friend and we loved him so much, but two months after this picture was taken he had to be put to sleep. He had other problems with his feet and no matter what we did for him, we had to stop the suffering. He will always have a place in our hearts. Best Regards, Marion

I raise horses, dental work on a horse is not the easyist thing to do. he looks great for his age. my oldest here is 25 he is the love of my life, blind in one eye but still a great riding horse, but i can not rope off him anymore, we loved doing this together, it is sad because he still want to track cattle when we get near the pens, we won many may saddles & tropies threw the years, but i have 5 of his off spring here, 3 are following in his footsteps. yes at 25 he still produces off spring.

Artist Reply: Hi Jacqueline, Yes, I have had horses up to age of 32 and still miss them today. Dallas is a great horse and has had problems with his feet and can not be ridden. He used to do cattle and penning, but now he is our pet around here. After all he gave when he could and now he needs just love and attention. I am glad to have met you and your love of horses and from time to time will share my love with the photos I will share. Best Regards, Marion

Great shots Marion.

Artist Reply: Hi Reba, Glad you liked my photo and the image of how horses get their teeth looked after. We all have to have dental work sometime or another. Glad we don't have to have to have it done on our feet though. Have a great week, Marion

what a beautiful horse and impressive image!! (yes, it is interesting to see this and my thoughts are going to the patients of my son....who is a dentist...lol)

Artist Reply: Hi Nelly, Glad you got a look into how a horse is treated for dental work. The Guy on the right is my husband and the one on left is the licensed Vet from Davis. A student always comes along to get training in vet care for large animals, as Davis University is a training school and they come out of 4 years as a licensed Vet. Thouht you would like to know. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Marion
