Lunar Photo

This photo was taken on December 30, 2006. This photo won 3rd place in the lunar category at Tristar Astronomy Conference in Greensboro, NC on March 03, 2007. I used a 4.5 tasco luminova telescope and just shot into the eyepiece with my Sony Cybershot H2 digital camera.

OH WOW!!! No Mary yours came out better. The crater definition is very sharp here. Great job!

Artist Reply: Thanks. Yours was great too. It is so hard to do the moon especially on cold nights. It takes a lot of patience. Thanks again for the comments.

I'd guess you didn't use a 300mm lens for this shot. Its no wonder it won a prize but third place sounds a bit mean. Its a first prize surely.

Artist Reply: Thank you so much but I was so grateful to win anything. I took this shot the first week I started learning astrophotography.
