One of a series of five small sketches drawn in situ at various public houses (pubs) dotted around London's East End. It was late afternoon, the atmosphere was seedy and menacing, hazy with diffuse sunlight and tobacco smoke. I worked quickly and covertly reworking the image later via the etching process and digital manipulation.
