I have never seen anyone use modeling paste to build up a 3-D look...so very unique! I think it turned out beautifully! Its like sculpture and painting in one!

Artist Reply: Thank you, Lisa! There's all kinds of things like "lava rock", "sand", etc. that you can use with acrylics or oils. You just have to apply it to a blank canvas and let it dry good before painting. So you have to get your design on there right in the beginning because you only get one shot!! LOL Sometimes you have to do it in layers and let each layer dry before applying another one. I was just experimenting because I've never had any instruction on using these things or acrylics...
