owlets

this one was done on pre-inked scratchboard which I like to do if I'm scratching animals that are nocturnal by nature or live in areas that are naturally darker because of the season (winter twilight) but it's a less forgiving medium so you really have to pay attention to where you place your blade.Original piece is 5 1/2"x5 1/2"(14x14cm)

Marvelous piece! I have never tried scratch board...If you have time I would love some info about it. I really like the effect.

Aren't these just sweet! you've captured the character of little owls perfectly: somewhere I have a photo of two just like these perched on my outstretched arm; if I can find it I'll send you a copy. :) Gwen.

Very nice couple of owls! Nice done, Sheila!

Artist Reply: thanks annette. it's funny the pictures that grab peoples attention. this is one of my personal favourites and yet it gets the least comments of the bunch. thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
