The Emperor at the age when he visited the lower San Francisco river in 1859. It is part of the collection Reliefs of Piranhas. It commemorates the Emperors journey through the state of Alagoas, when he passed through the towns of Piaçabuçu, Penedo, São Braz, Traipu, Pão de Açucar and Piranhas. Dom Pedro traveled by ship up to Piranhas from where he continued overland, in the company of 200 gentlemen from the region, to the Falls of Paulo Afonso (BA). The picture is 60cm high and 45 cm wide.
