A scenery of rare splendour unveils beautiful Parati with the old colonial houses, which in 1966 have been declared an Historical Heritage. Situated on the route between Rio de Janeiro and Vila Rica, its prosperity came from the gold business of the state of Minas Gerais in the 18th century.
