I painted this in tribute to the great Dale Earnhardt This dipicts the last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500, just moments before the faitfull chach that took his life. I found the irony in the joy he must of felt at that very moment and the sorrow that was second away. I wanted the portrait of Dale that incompanyed this scene to show the intence competitor and caring man. I hope you like it

Gorgeous, and truly a fine, and worthy tribute to this awesome man, Richard! I was watching the race that day, and could not believe the outcome before my eyes, and what I heard on that day. You've done a fine artwork, here.Emily Reed 10 Feb 2007
