THE RESPLENDENT QUETZAL digital image by M. Forbus

THE RESPLENDENT QUETZAL digital manipulation by Michael Forbus The Quetzal is the country bird of Guatamala. I have been fortunate enough to see this exquisite bird in the rainforest in Panajachel, Guatamala. It was such a poignant and precious moment between myself and nature. The Lacadone Indian men wear the wings in their long hair and wear gowns of woven rouch cotton. They are hunters by nature and the Quetzal used to be a spiritual prey. They live in the Chiapas region of the Yucatan just on the border of Guatamala. A gorgeous place to be on this earth. Guatamala is known as "The Land of Eternal Spring" Make the trip if you ever get the chance. Sometimes the tail feathers are many feet long. My favorite bird. Have a most glorious weekend. copyright by Michael Forbus
