I probably work like most 3D artists, you build up the scene accordingly to how you want it, test render at a low resolution, tweak it, test render, more tweaks and so on like that and then do a final render at the higher target resolution. It would seem I hit a few snags in the software (possibly all ironed out since my current version), I got the test render how I wanted it, did the high res one and it looked nothing like how I had it (wanted more green in it you see), going back to the lower res and it was fine again... I kept this final output however as it's still nice in its own right... just not what I was aiming for at the time. By the time I got to my final aurora I probably didn't tweak it as much as I should of becuase I was quite fed up with the software.
