Pastel on Art Spectrum Colourfix Card (black) 'Second painting of the New Year and I'm back on my black paper again. I painted this tonight at our weekly art group about one and three-quarter hours of painting. I have been trying out watercolour, acrylics and a little bit of oil over the past few months, but it feels good to return to my first love, soft pastels. I wanted to achieve as much drama as possible in this picture so I have tried to keep it as simple as possible with as little blending as possible.'
