I love Escher....this is awesome I love the colors and the critters are great

Timothy McAninch 30 Jan 2007

Very cool tesselation. Would make a nice puzzle too as none of the shapes are repeated. Several of the critters would be good to make sculptures from.

everything is connected in someway or another-reminds me of life! MC was a genious- great job following in his footsteps!

Artist Reply: Thanks so much, Lisa. Yes, I agree that everything is connected. Strangely enough, while I was working away at this painting, I didn't actually think of Escher. It was only after completion that I realized it was reminiscent of his work.

Awesome painting, you gave so much attention to every little creature. Lovely colour match too.

Artist Reply: Thank you for your kind words, Anneke! I did put in a lot of time on this one, for sure. And I planned the colors out in advance as well, so that they'd look good all together.

The eys here are really something....the combination makes you look and look--nice! (funny, but that little pink 'creature' on the bottom left w/ the round eye I really like!) -Kerra

Artist Reply: Thanks so much, Kerra! I like the pink creature too. At some point I realized that not every creature would be something you'd find in the real world.
