Midnight Dreamer Studio This is the first commissioned portrait of an American Pitbull Terrier named Gypsy :) Hopefully the first of many more to come. She is a beloved pet of a friend of mine I met met on a forum, she is too cute :) I hope you like this portrait! Here is a tidbit of fact for you to chew on~ The American Canine Temperament Testing Association, which sponsors tests for temperament titles for dogs, reported that 95% of all APBTs that take the test pass, compared with a 77% passing rate for all breeds on average. The APBT's passing rate was the fourth highest of all the breeds tested. ~*~By the way I just got an email from my friend and she said that I captured Gypsy's look perfectly and she just loves it and can not wait to get the original on her wall!~*~ I am really happy because this is the first time i have drawn some ones animal :)

Hi Leah, You've done a marvellous job at capturing Gypsy! My only comment is to watch the line of the eyes- make sure they are sitting on the same line and the same angle as the nose, chin and ears. The right eye is slightly higher than the left and this creates a distortion, which in turns 'jumps out' at the viewer and is a flaw of the artwork. You will improve with each portrait you do! I have been drawing and painting animals, (specialising in the Arabian Horse) for over ten years and I'm still learning everyday! Happy drawing and remember, art is food for the soul.
