A contemporary oil painting on box canvas. Inspired by a boat trip to the island of Torcello. I find tabernacles objects of great beauty, and had I not already spent considerable time in their portrayal, I could quiet happily paint them all day long. If the church of Torcello was the first Venetian church, does it follow therefore that this painting was inspired by the first Venetian tabernacle?
