About 15 years ago I designed pieces of furniture. Not only the decoration, but also the construction. I was the carpenter... Here I show you two examples. I've sold several chairs, benches and also coffins. For the coffins I did only the decoration. When I see these chairs back, my thoughts are going to Rietveld, but I know I gave them my own style and signature. Already in that time I had my black and red. (and not the colors of De Stijl, red, yellow and blue..)

Hmmm true Nelly I can see the possible Reitveldt "feel". But I'm thinking yours are more "direct" and inviting. DeStijl was more like trying to prop up mountains with matchsticks. I'm still drawn to the LeCorbusier and Saarinen and Aalto stuff. How about supergraphic interpretations of your beautiful red roses with a black background on furniture forms? Bold red, comforting black and then the contrasting little white line... The contrasts are breath taking!
