This was done in water-soluable oils. It's great for Plein air, works like acrylics but doesn't dry out so quickly when you're outdoors in the elements. Another thing I've started to do (in plein air pieces) is to start on a pink-range background. With so much "green" in florida scenery, it's helpful to have the contrast and helps me to see the other colors.
