We have been here at our favorite lunch spot near the glacier many times in the past 4 years. It is always an awesome site. (more photos posted earlier) If you look into the cave where the Carbon River begins, you can see a large hunk of ice that has fallen from the roof. My best guess is that the top of the cave is around 30 ft. tall. The face is over 100 ft. tall and it used to stretch across the valley from one mountainside to the other. Now it has pulled away from the sides and has receded a lot. I guess it is the way of nature, but I can't help but think it's a sign of the times. I wonder what it will look like 10 years from now.
