Looks like seed pods from lilies perhaps? Often seeds, as berries are, protect the inner seeds. Coll pods and great color on the seeds. Nice variation and framing.
Wow! What a fantastic indigo. I've been wanting to get pictures of the brilliant red rose hips we have now, but the background is always a clutter of branches and leaves and bushes. I'll have to try to go with a very short depth of field as you have done. Good photo.
