what does it all mean? It is very interesting and well done, the image is quite compelling and has a strange aura...but one then wants to know the meaning behind it. I like it very much too.

Artist Reply: I did this series as the homage to Zurbaran. Zurbaran was known for his subdued, almost non-existant backgrounds, which did as little as possible to detract from his central subjects. But in my works the pieces almost obscure the figures, because of the motion of the backgrounds... I try to keep the central emotional theme of Zurbaran, but to superimpose it with another environment. For me the motion of the backgrounds it is not the technical method, but the way to rereading the Zurbaran, to play the Zurbaran`s drama on a new stage. As his pure religious message turn to night mystery, something more complicated, hard to understand, but close to my imagination of this world.
