Dinner at Emmaus

Study of Rembrandt's masterpiece, "Diner at Emmaus". Really one of my favorite paintings, the use of light is just exellent. Jezus his shilloutte against the light grabs me everytime. My version has some changnes in it, I placed jezus more in the middle and made the space a bit compacter. And jezus has some more light falling on him...but hey, you can find out for yourself. Done in watercolors, ballpoint, chalk and pastel. One tip....don't use primer on ballpoint, it was not nice to see my subtile black ballpoint lines become thick and blue. The whole thing was screwed after a long night of drawing. This is how it turned out.
