Pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes. This is an early painting of mine that sold fairly quickly to a close friend. I was experimenting with pastel trying to create an illusion of glass and the play of light through the chipped and scratched surface of the old marbles. It was a very good learning exercise and stood me in good stead for later paintings

This is wonderful! My dog dug a hole in my garden the other day and a lovely cat's eye marble was on top of the dirt pile - what a gift! Marbles are magical to me and you captured this feeling very nicely!bianca thomas 25 Jul 2006
