INDEPENDENCE DAY:-- "CRUCIFIXION GLORY "
The work was done on heavy Strathmore ribbed watercolor paper 12" X 17" using pastels, charcoal, enamel, fixative, acrylic gel sealant.
The real independence day was when Christ submitted to the death of the cross in order to redeem us from the pentalty of our sins. John 10: 17-18 Jesus tells of His desire to offer Himself as the propiation for our sins: ""THEREFORE DOTH MY FATHER LOVE ME, BECAUSE I LAY DOWN MY LIFE, THAT I MIGHT TAKE IT AGAIN. NO MAN TAKETH IT FROM ME, BUT I LAY IT DOWN OF MYSELF, I HAVE POWER TO LAY IT DOWN, AND I HAVE POWER TO TAKE IT AGAIN. THIS COMMANDMENT HAVE I RECEIVED OF MY FATHER." .
.
For our sakes, Christ died so that we might live. Jesus said in John 11: 25-26 "I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." And again speaking of his death, Jesus exclaimed in John 12: 31-32 "Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.".
We are most blessed that the God of all Creation loves us so much that He died for us and arose again and has prepared a place in Heaven for those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Ask Jesus into your heart and He will not let you down. The Lord will heal your wounded soul and give you love abounding forever, and keep you from the lake of fire reserved for the devil and his angels and all who reject so great a salvation.
