A Mermaid's Tears

A sad looking mermaid With salt drop tears falling from her eyes crying over the harm that has been done to the ocean holding close to her protecting a shell ..a gift from the sea.

Completed on 9X11'5 bristol board. 2006 Charcoal

I LOVE the story behind this. And if mermaids exist ( i rule out nothing, look at the giant squid, thought to be myth and yet found recently) i daresay they would be tearful at what the "flat footed" men have done to the seas. could you imagine a third world war.....us versus the hosts of the sea.....doesn't bear thinking about. Lovely work Katerina....and AMAZING message, i am very impressed.!!!!
