THE LITTLE HUNTER

I choose to paint this image in watercolor because since I saw it, it has been as a scream I move inside of me. The reality of the contrasts in our society is deeply shocking, more painful when it is children... I painted this picture in silence, and the more I looked at for this child... I only got to think in its purity. Only the purity doesn't have revolt... and what I read in the glance are simply dreams... of who never saw other worlds... others societies... This image silences me..., my heart is teeny and the tears want obstinately to come unfastened. It hurts me the sorrow of my impotence of not getting to at least change a corner of our World... The original work it's a photo work of a marvelous great photografer Jonh White.

Wonderful Analua!

Timothy McAninch 25 Sep 2007

Strong clarity and image. Reminds me of my late Uncles stories of growing up during the depression. They roasted the bird feathers and all over a fire. It was chared and the taste was bad, but they were hungry and thankful.

uche osoka 24 Sep 2007

marc doutherd 30 Oct 2006

I am very proud to say that at least someone has the guts to paint the truth. Its not pretty to see that over three fourths of the worlds children live in poverty and the so called governments which consist of mostly ingnorant and heartless leaders are turning a blind eye to it. If this rips your heart out its because its reality for so many innocent ones whose sole crime was to be born in a world so heartlessly cold. I love you for this because its real art! Its fantastic. They can buy more guns and bomb than you can shake a stick at but buying food and milk to feed starving children is not on the budget?

arnold quentin 18 Oct 2006

Charles Oliver 14 Oct 2006

This is the truth and you express it so well Ana

James Battersby 24 Sep 2006

Such a beautiful painting indeed. And it makes you wonder what that child has gone through, though i expect that it would seem even worse for those of us in the west, for everything has become so politically correct....i daresay a parent would even fear it's child to play barefoot in the garden for fear of social services.....so the cultures seperate in some ways. There is an innocence about this painting. Perhaps his hurt is magnified not within him, but moreso within our own fear that he suffers, for though he suffers, we'll never know how little or how much. An awesome piece of artwork and i love your own love for our struggling cousins in the lands of poor.

M. Quintus van Amstel 22 Sep 2006

your sense of lights and darks is remarkable. that's one of the keys to great art. that dingy sweater helps define this scene, and helps define you as an excellent watercolor painter.

Victoria Cadet 28 Jul 2006

David Holcombe 25 Jul 2006

Excellent image from a visual and thematic point of view. The boy is a real boy with real ducks in a real landscape. It has an intensity and mystery that come through. The green and blue contrast nicely with the intense orange dirt. Lovely image, Analua.

Fred Chuang 17 Jul 2006

Engaging, Analua...I love the way you have patterned the pebbles to mirror the pattern of the ducks' plummage...especially that impossible line of pebbles and the rings around his foot--they suggest motion and stillness!

A fantastic piece of work, that stands out obvious reasons. I agree it makes it harder and all the more difficult to accept when it is children.

Nick Alexejev 13 Jun 2006

AMAZING, powerful work!! I love the depth, the colors and this little boy walking barefoot, in a world that we will never truly understand. If only we could change it, hopefully we can all make a difference. When I visited Honduras, I was simply amazed and astonished at the amount of poverty and lack of clothing and shelter that they had. It is nothing as a child to hear eat your food there is children

DAVID OLSEN 07 Jun 2006

Analua has proven she is a very tallented artist here. Watercolors are not that easy to work with when this kind of realism is accomplished. Also, the subject matter reflects something that is too prevalent in our world right now.
