Grand Park

This was our destination for the day and so worth the long hike to get there. This huge meadow is 1 1/2 miles long and 3/4 of a mile wide. We had been wanting to make this hike very much because we had seen this place from a distance, from various hikes before at Sunrise. The second photo is Grand Park from Dege Peak, (out of Sunrise). My burning question is...why is this place so flat when everything around it is so rugged? From a distance it literally looks like it is mowed and maintained. It is totally natural!! :)
