In the woods

This is a interesting growth that my husband spotted while camping this month In New Mexico. I like the way this natural item is formed. He was not a help in telling me if this was the way the whole palnt was, or if this is a type of fungi growth, or a lichen species. Regardless, I love the way it looks. If you recognize this species, let me know. This is a photo gift from my husband, who e-mails me his photos on orders to find me something interesting on his trips. LOL! He does come up with some cool captures and finds.

At first I though it was antlers..still this is a great photo...

Artist Reply: Thanks Tazda! I thought so as well, but remebered something about them in the fungi family from a sciece fair project I entered way back in high school. (Won it!) I like the shape, color, and flow to the growth.

A great and natural organic piece, he is good to you. Keep him happy as you are. It is rare and I love to hear this sort of talk about two people. miguel

Artist Reply: Thanks Miguel! We share a lot of similar interest, especially with lofe of nature. The fact I had gone caving was the reason I got a blind date in colege with him. I knew the location of a cave he didn't! LOL! He had to marry me to get the directions! That was over 27 years ago.

don't know what it is Terry but I like the photo

Artist Reply: Thanks Corry! I looks like a lichen or maybe a parite type palnt. What it is, regardless, is cool to me. My husband has the same eye for like joys in common. He might not with other art, but photos, he does.

Unusually alluring, Terry!

Artist Reply: Thank you Carliss! The curving and lights do draw the eye. I love things that are alluring as these. Simple natural beauty, the small wonders of life.

What a capture!

Artist Reply: I love twisted and curled plants and wood, so this one really made my day to get. These ae the type subjects I liked to do still life studies of. Lots of detail, and interests.
