This 5x7 woodstain on coldpress is the cover work for the second BookLit in the Tentative Muses project. In this project, I am collecting a hundred first sentences from other people, and writing a short story beginning with their sentence, which is then published as an eight page BookLit. When the hundred stories are completed, they will all be brought together for publishing. The original art is being held for the entirety to be complete, at which time all the participants will be invited to a gala book release and art show! copyright 2005; Loree Harrell

Loree, exquisite ancient and modern combination and the symbolism and the pure innocence on the faces of the animals. To acheive modern work with the primative intact is a difficult task and by this piece I can see you are up to the task. The book idea is futuristic, you are a genius. I welled up a little in the eyes reading the poem about 16 year olds. I am having some distance from my 19 year old beauty and I miss our close times and deep discussions. She is, like a younger version of you, a deep thinker and photographer. When the flocks leave the fold, the heart breaks but the excitement of knowing where you went at that age is reverberating in my very soul. She must travel her own path and suffer her own lessons and I will always be ready and willing to hold her close and treat her like a smart and progressive worman. You are on my mind daily.
