Snowdon Road

This is a very steep road that runs up mount Snowdon in North Wales, I hope you do get that impression, as it's not a easy thing to capture on paper. 2.5x3.5 on cotton paper Copyright © Steph Salt

Yes, I do get the impression of going uphill with your fine capture of the incline. Another very fine work of art from you.

Artist Reply: Thank you for saying so Vivian, I think that perhaps I have been too close to it, and can't see it the way you can? *Hugs!*

Congrats for the success of your WDE, Steph! This is really a lovely painting. And if you grant me permission to use your photo as a reference, I think I will have a go at painting it as well.

Artist Reply: Thank you Greg, and you can :D *Hugs!*

What a beautiful scene! I love this one and it's depth, the colors lovely!

Artist Reply: Thank you Terry, but don't you mean the height? LOL! Sorry couldn't resist it *Hugs!*

This is really wonderful Steph... it has a 'familiar' feeling to it as I gaze at it.. It feels like a warm summer day to me, and makes me want to wander down that country road... Excellent rendering! :o)

Artist Reply: Thank you Les, but if you were to wander along this road I hope that your legs are strong because it is extreemly steep :D I'm not kidding either. It's one of those roads that if you saw a car driving up it, you would wonder how it manages to keep it's front end on the road, and not tumble backwards. I haven't done it justice really :D

So delightfully pretty!

Artist Reply: Yes but it doesn't stand out as anything special does it? But it was a trial for this new pencil, and I am impressed by it. Thank you Emily :)

Gorgeous, Steph! Pencil? Can you please teach me?

Artist Reply: Armando I would love to. First buy some Inktense from Derwent pencils, you will love them, and then I will tell you how I painted this :D Thank you dear friend *Hugs!*

Joke Schotting 19 Apr 2006

Beautiful pencil work,Steph!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you Joke, these new pencils are amazing, they allow you to do a real wash of colour, just like watercolours but they are based on ink, so they are pretty well permanant.

Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen 19 Apr 2006

gorgeous and beautiful and fresh coloured work!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you Nelly. I forgot to mention in my description that the road is very steep, as it is goinf up a mountain in Wales. Have you heard of Snowdon at all? I know it's a small mountain as world peaks go but it isn't tiny either :D
