Everything these Bedouins owned had to be light and manageable enough to hoist on to the camel's back. Their camel herds were survival machines, providing milk that was for the Bedouin both food and drink.
Francis, this is an excellent watercolor. Your realism always makes me think that it's a photo at first glance. You are also good at picking out interesting subjects for your work.
Artist Reply: Thank you David, it's very kind of you ..I appreciate it.
Somehow I didn't quite like this one francis. Sory to say. I guess this is my first one and maybe I'm the only one. I don't know, maybe because the color. Oh, but you're still my favorite artist. :D
Artist Reply: It's okay Noval, don't have to be sorry. Maybe this remind you of something. This painting was already sold. Thanks.
Hello Francis! Love these deep, vibrant siennas and the use of the Prussian blues that add mystery to the picture. The Kuwaiti Bedouins lead a very sophisitcated and civilised life now, but for all that they still cling on to their nomadic traditions. Every year, when the temperatures finally cool down to a bearable level they pack up their tents and TVs, DVDs, fridges and generators and put the camel in the back of the Dodge truck and head out into the desert. Then, amidst the splendour of their tent they lounge comfortably on their fabulous, ethnic cushions.............. and watch TV under the stars!!!! How times change! Wonderful painting!
Artist Reply: I love it, I can imagine it....lying on the carpet over the sand, staring at the stars and sipping hot coffee near the fire.....you are wonderful Rusty, I wish we are in the same place. thanks.
It was their 'mode of transportation'.. their means of survival.. Camels, very important to them for sure! Brilliant watercolour work Francis.. excellent atmosphere. :o)
Artist Reply: Thanks Les, I loves camel very much.
