'JDS Kongo (DDG-173)' is a Kongo class guided missile destroyer in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Kongo was named for Mount Kongo. She was laid down by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki. This model is made out of 100% paper and it contains more than 1500 parts. It took me more than 2 months approx(250hrs) to complete. That's not a battleship, but a destroyer of the Kongo Class (DDG-182). Other destroyers in this class are Kirishima (DDG-174), Myoko (DDG-175) and Chokai (DDG-176), all built between 1990 and 1998. They succeeded the Hatakaze Class (DDG-171 and DDG-172 built between 1983 and 1988 ) and then succeeded by the Atago class (DDG-177) with the Ashigara (DDG-178).Anonymous Guest 03 Jan 2011
