Lighthouse

My name is Jerry Stith and I am Founder of a new American Folk art program called BallPoint Pen Art. A ballpoint pen is the most used writing or drawing instrument in history. Bic Pens just published that they have sold one hundred billion pens. My BallPoint Pen Art program is introducing the ballpoint pen as a new art medium to this world because it is the largest undeveloped art medium in history! Pen and Ink has been around fore about four thousand years and the ballpoint is the most popular or sold pen of all pens.******* I worked with a pencil for five years before changing over to ink. I loved pencils yet never found any works displayed in any major museums or galleries along the way. However, pen and ink works could be found therefore that seemed more promising of a medium as an artist. I have worked with about twenty different mediums throughout my fifty years of art. The ballpoint pen offered brilliant or bright colors, a half tone line and very long flowing lines!******* Ink has benefited me as an artist because of its boldness. Once a line was placed on a page it remained regardless. Pencil was a much dirtier medium, smeared plus had many limitations within the art world or community on a world class level. Pen and ink has been around for about four thousand years, had a public and reputation plus was much more popular with collectors or investors! The ballpoint pen was a great writing or drawing instrument and was sold by the billions, which meant massive people knew how it worked. It also indicated that people knew how hard it was to draw with.******* Introducing what a ballpoint pen could do, as an art medium was News Worthy and something yet done, therefore it was also a historical event! So, I decided to use it as my main art medium there after. This multi-colored ballpoint lighthouse drawing was my first landscape and something new to me as a portrait artist. It was fun or enjoyable and much more relaxing than working with people or doing portraits. I have talked with thousands of people while working in public over the years or decades. Most artists I have communicated with indicated portraits are the hardest things to draw, as is ink.******* Ink is very unyielding and that certainly presents a tremendous challenge! Introducing the largest undeveloped art medium in history has placed my in art history and has made it totally worth while as an artist. What other art mediums have one hundred billion units sold? I love art and certainly support most if not all forms of art because its all good. May everyone have a blessed day!*******

Nice to see that you indulge in landscape as well. I like to use them as studies and then combine landscape and portrait (a bit like your friend, Leonardo da Vinci). Have a great New Year.

Hello Jery! How are you? This is a beautifully painted picture. I especially like the way you've handled the water. (reminiscent of a 1920s Hokusai). The bic pens give the images an original and unique texture and clear, jewel like colours. Brilliant artwork! I love it!
