Two kittens playing with a broom

Here are tow kittens at play with a broom. I am still learning about all the brushes and blenting tools that are in my Painter IX software that I used to paint this. I used my wacom tablet and pen and played with some new brushes with this one. I am please with the effects, and hope you enjoy the results.

more great photos and effects ........Brill!11

Artist Reply: Thank you! I played around with new brush and blending settings when I painted this work. It made the kittens come out soft, but realistic. I didn't like the rug, but may figure out and redo that part.

looks like they are trying to sweep! LOL! love this one

Artist Reply: Thanks! They love the smell and to dig at broom bristles. They managed to knock it over as I watched them play. They jumped on top and had fun.

So soft, I can touch their fur...

Artist Reply: Thank you Sara, that was so nice that you got that feeling! I was trying for it. I'm going to try to get some photos of more cats and dogs to paint. They are a good subject and can be challenging at times to do.

Artist Reply: Thank you Corry! I play with the blending brushes to get different textures, like fur, that I want. Sometimes using several in layers combined.

They are so , so cute, Terry. I love how you edited and softened them to make them so sweet!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you Emily! I draw out the outlines of what I wan t to paint, then airbrush in the colors. Next I play with brushes and brush tools to find a style that works for the area I am working on. I add in highlights and details, softening them with blending tools. If the colors are to o light, then I adjust the colors with the brightness/contrast to edit it to where I like it. I go back over it all enlarged so I can look for any place I missed blending, and correct erros. Just having a bit of visual problems this past week with one eye infected so, harder to find errors, and it takes longer to finsh a work.

I think you did great!

Artist Reply: Thank you very much Katie! It's good to hear that. I will keep exploring and trying new combinations. Sometimes by dumb luck I find a mix that works well on one type of stroke, that I can use for particular subjects. I was really pleased with the fur, and am looking for other ways to make it, sharper, softer, fluffier, detailes, etc. Not everything works, but finding one good combination can make my day.
