This is the Stanford Mansion in downtown Sacramento. It served as a children's home.

The zig-zaggy looks of the stairs, art deco paint job, and slight moiré effect on the columns give this picture a slightly surreal look. Or maybe just a tad comical. Very interesting. Great use of lights and darks.

Artist Reply: The staircase was very interesting it arched in the front and had a staircase on the left and right arching to the door. very intricate. it was so big that i couldn't capture the whole staircase! Thanks Carol
