Nazi-Basterd

This is a portrait of Joseph Göbbels (Goebbels). He was Adolf Hitler´s Propaganda minister during the Nazi regime in Germany. As the title of the image should already have made clear: I DO NOT LIKE THIS PERSON! I thought I´d just write that in caps, before people start calling me a nazi. This man is responsible for crimes against humanity. He was so sick, that in the end of the war, he and his wife poisoned their six children with cyanide, before comitting suicide themselves. Then why did I paint this "person", not because he is so handsome. I wanted to make a portrait of a person that intrigues me. He looks as creepy as the person he was. It is like all the evil things that he did is written in his face. I get bad feelings when I look at him for sure, but that made the painting easyer for me. Notice the dirty colors I used to put an accent on his personality.

his eyes lack the usual spark your wrk has, was that delibeit? i know little of this man, and after looking at this work i dont feel any more dislike toward him, but then i am one of a lucky few it seems that can say that i dont hate anyone, this wrk makes me want to ask the question, why do u feel so passionat about this man, not just what you have writen but why him, obv hitler himself would have been more of a figure to focus your attentions ????? still i like your wrk=)

Artist Reply: Hello Ian, I am sorry about the spark this portrait lacks, honestly speaking, I can't say it's delibereit. Why I feel intreaged by this man? Maybe mostly from a visual point of view. I just keep looking at his face, it is soooo creepy. It's like he looks as evil and disturbed as he really was. I understand your comment about little Adolf, but you have already seen the video's I made, so I guess that says enough. ;)

INCREDIBLE PORTRIAT...I FIND THESE PERSONALITES INTERESTING...I TRIED MANY YEARS TO UNDERSTAND THIS EVIL IN HUMANS, INSANITY AND CRUELTY AND HATRED...IT SEEMS TO LACK ANY RATIONAL EXPLANATION MOST OF THE TIME...IT HAS NO REASONING PERHAPS IS WHY I COULD NOT COME UP WITH ANYTHING THAT MADE CLEAR SENSE WHEN TRYING TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH OF IT ALL. I WANTED TO PAINT SOME TYPES LIKE THIS MYSELF ...JUST TO MAKE OTHERS THINK MORE ABOUT THE INNER HEART OF HUMANS. VERY INTERESTING WORK.

Artist Reply: Thank you Christine. I also find these subjects interesting interesting, and scary too. I also do not know how to explain the actions of this person, they are indeed not rational... or maybe way too rational. I don´t know, it´s freaky. And then knowing that there are still some people who agree to these ideas today.

Nice capture. I think he was just bitter about his clubbed foot.

Artist Reply: That was a frustration for him I´m sure. Still a disability if that kind shouldsn´t be enough to make some one do the things he did.
