What If (work in progress)

this is the second stage of another image in my gallery. the colors turned out a little better on this one, but not by much. the neons (yes, there are neons)just seem orangy and not so great. anyway, onto the picture.
this is something of a self portrait. i had a conversation with a freind of mine about reality. what if reality is not what we think. what if reality is really the fantastic images in the fairy tales? thats what i am trying to get across here. im also begining to realize that its almost time for me to get out into the real world and live. that, of course, influenced this. i've spent an incredible amount of time on this already; i have high expectations for it. i plan to try drawing a border of brick or stone in graphite around this to emphasize and complete the concept of stepping from drab enclosure into exciting reality. i hope you like it. i'd estimate i've spent around 20 or so hours on this, so be gentle.
